Tatami Making Workshop

Tako Kite Making

This stimulating kite making activity is a fun way to flex your creativity! The workshop is held at Higashiomi City’s Giant Kite Museum. Before the workshop, you can explore the museum for inspiration as you learn about both local and global kite history and culture through exhibits of all kinds of local regional kites. Exhibits include one of Japan’s largest hundred-tatami size giant kites, and miniature models of past giant kites along with their histories.

Kimono Fitting

Our collection of kimonos includes a wide variety of sizes, styles, and patterns. Fitting takes only about 15 minutes per person and hair arrangement to match your outfit is also included. We also have variety of traditional men’s costumes such as samui (work clothes) or montsuki–hakama (a formal crested kimono), and even samurai wigs. There are also unisex happi gowns for even easier fitting in sizes for everyone from children to adults. Everyone can enjoy these traditional garments, and after fitting, you can take a walk around the neighborhood which will provide the perfect backdrop for some fun travel photos!

Udon Noodle Cooking
